Wine

Wine in it self is completely harmless; it is the alcohol that is the killer and against God’s will for His people. There are three and only three scriptures in the Bible that shows us that wine can be a natural way of healing, Proverbs 31:6, Ecclesiastes 10:19, 1 Timothy 5:23. Nutritionist and some doctors will even tell you that there is something in the wine that is very good for you. But the alcohol it self is something to stay away from. I know some like the alcohol because of the buzz feeling they get. Well I got news for you there is no greater buzz then the one that the Holy Spirit gives. You don’t need to pollute your mind and life with alcohol. The Bible teaches that a person who loves alcohol will not prosper spiritually in the Lord Proverbs 21:17. He will not take you to a greater level in knowing Him.

Listen to the testimonies of alcoholics and they seem to all tell the story of how it all started with one drink. That’s why the Bible teaches that alcohol opens doors for demons in one’s life Proverbs 23:29-35. When major problems strike your life you be used to running to the alcohol instead of on your knees seeking the Lord for strength. Alcohol is a curse and destroys life; even those who say, “well one beer won’t hurt” are destroying their life weather if they know it or not. As a Christian stay away from alcohol, those who depend on alcohol to relax and have some sort of temporary peace don’t know the Holy Spirit. For if they did they wouldn’t depend on the alcohol to relax and get them through the stressful day; “Great peace have they which love thy law” Psalms 119:165. For you who love Jesus and want to be closer to Him remember it is not God’s will for His children to drink alcohol especially you who call yourselves ministers of the Gospel. Alcohol will do nothing but draw you farther from the Lord.

For those who like to drink wine with a meal; find a wine that is free from alcohol, this is the best way to go. It will benefit you spiritually, physically and mentally; stick with the Bible not opinions when it comes to your spiritual life and relationship with God.
